IJED aims to publish papers on the environment problems associated with the process of economic development. It encourages submission of papers, both theoretical and empirical, on the scientific and environmental policy issues. The papers on wide range of topics including the following aspects are welcomed:
1. Economic policies and environmental impact,
2. Environmental regulation and development,
3. Institutional change and environmental effects, and
4. Interrelationship between economic development and environmental processes.
Journal contains book review section for wider dissemination of literatures to researchers and policy makers.
Instructions for contributors
The title page should contain the name(s) and institutional affiliation of the author(s), and their present address(s) and e-mail addresses and acknowledgement(s) or credits, if any, followed by an abstract of the paper using not more than 200 words. In addition, a summary of the paper, not exceeding 500 words, using non-technical language should also be provided on separate page.
The title of the paper must be kept written two lines with a bold 12 fonts. The submitted manuscript must not exceed 30-doubled spaced and typed or printed on one side of paper in MS word with New Times Roman in 12 fonts.
Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and numbered consecutively throughout the text with superscript numerals. They should appear at the end of the main text, and should not include tables, figures or formulae.
Tables should be kept short, and numbered sequentially through the text. They should be typed or printed on separate page(s) of the manuscript, not in the text. Titles and column headings should be brief and descriptive.
Formulae should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript as (1), (2), ……. against the right-hand margin of the page. If the derivation of the formulae has been abbreviated; the full derivation should be presented in an appendix. Avoid tedious mathematical expressions. All figures should be made to fit the journal’s page size. All lines should be clear. All illustrations should be suitable for printing in black and white, and should be numbered according to their sequence in the text. Reference should appear in the text as (Dasgupta, 1993), (Cruz and Gibbs, 1990; Chunkath and Athreya, 1997), (Greenberg et al., 1998).
Place references in an unnumbered alphabetical order at the end of the text. References should be made only if they are cited in the text; and to works that are published, accepted for publication, or available through libraries or institutions.
Use the following style of references:
Journal articles: Hartwick, J.M. (1998), ‘Substitution among exhaustible resources and intergenerational equity’, American Economic Review, 67 (5): 972-974.

If there are more than two authors use the name of the first, followed by ‘et al.’. When more than two references are cited together in the text, they should be arranged chronologically. Publication by the same author(s) in the same year should be listed as 2001a; 2001b, etc. Do not abbreviate the titles of periodicals.
Authors should ensure that they are not infringing copyright. Submission of a paper is understood to imply that the work is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
Any manuscript, which does not confirm to the above instructions, may be returned for the necessary revision before publication. Off points are supplied to the corresponding author at cost.
