Asian Journal of International Law (AJIL) is a refereed journal of international law focusing on international legal issues in general and Asian region in particular. Scholarly and original articles on the following subjects such as public international law, treaty relations and conventions, the functioning of the WTO and its bodies, application of various agreements under WTO, impact of them on developing and least developed countries, international humanitarian law, international law on resources – land, sea, air space, environment, application of international law in municipal legal systems, Asian cooperation, and private international law are invited for publication.
The Journal is published in June/July every year. Submissions are accepted the whole year on a rolling basis but to be considered for the coming June/July issue, submissions should not be later than end of February.
Guide for Authors
Authors may kindly note the following instructions in submitting the papers for publication:
1. The articles should be analytical, and products of original research or study. The maximum word limit for Articles is 8,000 and Shorter notes or comments must not exceed 3,000 words. An abstract of 150 words shall also be accompanied.
2. Articles published or submitted for publication elsewhere will not be entertained. Hence there shall be a declaration by the author to that effect, when submitting the article for consideration to the Editorial Board.
3. Apart from ‘Articles’ and ‘Shorter Notes or Comments’, submissions are also welcome for ‘International Decisions’ (commentary on recent decisions of the ICJ, ITLOS or WTO panels), and ‘Recent Developments in International Law’ (short notes on recent works of the ILC).
4. The submissions shall conform to the following citation system:

5. It is preferred that submissions are sent as email attachments in MS Word form to ghafur@iiu.edu.my, together with a cover letter and a brief resume. Alternatively, two copies of the manuscript, typed, double-spaced, on one side of A 4 paper, accompanied by the text on floppy disk in MS Word form, can be sent to the following address:
