The International Journal of Novel Materials (IJNM) is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the analysis, characterization, modeling and processing of materials which possess unconventional properties. These properties can be negative properties of what is known to be conventionally positive properties, extremely high magnitude of physical properties from what is known in a conventional sense or properties that are counter-intuitive. Contributions are invited from all over the world.
Submission to IJNM implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere in any form of media, that its publication is approved by all authors and that, if accepted by IJNM, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the publisher.
Submission must be in English. Both British English and American English are acceptable so long as there is consistency within the paper.
Scope:
The scope of IJNM shall include, but not necessarily limited to, the following topics:
• Auxetic materials
• Composites properties above Voigt formula
• Composites properties below Reuss formula
• Extreme Poisson’s ratio materials
• Extreme strength-to-weight ratio
• Extreme thermal expansion
• Metamaterials
• Negative refractive index materials
• Negative stiffness phase
• Negative thermal expansion
• Size effects
Instruction for authors
Structure: Follow this order when typing manuscripts - Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendix, References, Tables and then Figure Captions.
Text layout: Use double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins. (Avoid full justification, i.e., do not use a constant right-hand margin.) Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Present tables and figure legends on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Do not submit double column format.
Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who is willing to handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors.
Abstract: A self-contained abstract outlining in a single paragraph the aims, scope and conclusions of the paper must be supplied. The abstract should be between 100-150 words in length.
Keywords: Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of six keywords
Units: Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other quantities can not be avoided, give their equivalent in SI.
References: All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript. The referencing format is as follows:
[1] Author, I., Author, I.I. Title of journal paper. Journal Name. Volume number (year) first page – last page.
[2] Author, I., Author, I.I. Title of conference paper. Conference Name. Year, first page – last page.
[3] Author, I., Author, I.I. Title of book chapter. Editor, I., Editor, II. Name of Book, publisher, city, year, first page – last page.
[4] Author, I., Author, I.I. Title of Book. Publisher, city, year, first page – last page.
Copyright: All authors must sign and return the "Transfer of Copyright" agreement to the publisher before the article can be published.
Submission:
For quick peer-review process, corresponding authors are encouraged to send their papers in MS-Word document by email to the Editor-in-Chief:
