Accounting and Transparency : Critical for Functional Democracy

• Accountability of police and security forces for rising levels of crime and terrorism, mob violence (total crime picture from prevention to punishment).
• For abuse of public office, wasteful public expenditure, diversion of public funds to party purposes, misuse of such funds by the establishment.
• For mounting Bank bad debt described by the establishment in sugar coated words as non-performing assets confusing the common man.
• For not fulfilling promises made in election manifestos.
• For promotion of Nepotism in politics (dynasty politics etc)
• For lack of effective law on political defection making people’s mandate a mockery.
• For non-transparency and accountability in the collection and expenditure of party fund.  It needs to be legally defined as public fund, where CAG needs to audit it.
• For allowing a free run to holders of legal and constitutional office to do “business of profit” (crony capitalism) thereby hyjacking Democracy to become political property of those weilding economic power.In  Telugu speaking States bulk of Government contract works are cornered by MPs and MLAs.
