Women & Empowerment : A Feminist Discourse

Women are equally important in society as men. Nation cannot make any progress if it isolates its women population. Women population is almost half of the world’s population. The reproductive role of women comprises care and maintenance of the actual and future workforce of the family (childbearing responsibilities and domestic tasks); while as,  productive role of women relates to work performed by women and men for pay in cash or kind (market production, informal production, home production, subsistence production).  Woman today has not only responsibilities at home as a housewife, but also out of door as career woman. Therefore, empowering women is very essential, not only for their well-being but also for their families, communities and nation as a whole. The empowerment of women encompasses round the ability for women to enjoy their right to control and benefit from the resources, income, assets and their time. They need to be empowered economically, socially, and politically. As the volume “Women & Empowerment: A Feminist Discourse” is different and unique in nature, and touches almost all the issues related to the Women Empowerment.
