The government of India in post-Independent era has provided socio-economic justice to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, they being poor and being subjected to socio-economic oppression by the superior castes. They are the most exploited group and are characterized by poverty, illiteracy and landlessness and hence the Indian Government adopted the policy of protective discrimination. Article 46 of the Directive Principles of State Policy says that "State shall promote with special care for their education and economic interests of the weaker sections of the people and in particular of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and shall protect them from social injustice and all forms of exploitation. The active Scheduled Caste Women: Study of Voting Behaviour of Telangana can be properly assessed only when we understand their socio-economic conditions. Studying the socio-economic conditions of the entire Scheduled Caste Women population of Telangana would be a difficult proposition. Hence two districts from Telangana State had been chosen for a close examination of the problem. As such the book has been organized into Nine Chapters, encompassing subjects like as Introduction, Conceptual Frame Work of Voting Behaviour, Significance of the 2014 Elections, Profile of the Study Area, Socio-Economic Conditions of the Respondents, Voting Behaviour of Scheduled Caste Women in Warangal District, Voting Behaviour of Scheduled Caste Women in Adilabad District, Voting Behaviour of Scheduled Caste Women — A Comparative Study of Selected Districts and Conclusion.
