Women Empowerment Through NCC

Women's participation in the economic activity is very importantfor their own personal advancement and for the improvement of their status in the society. So, women should join the labourforceof the country in an equal footing with men and get fully integratedinto the economic system as a whole.

 

In this book an effort has been made to analyze how women are empowered with the help of NCC training without any background provided by the family. This bookanalysed:

• Thesocio-economic characteristics of the women in NCC. 

• The factorsinfluencing the cadets to join in NCC activities. 

• The relationship between the level of empowerment and the socio-economic indicators of the women in NCC. 

• Motivating factors for empowerment of girl cadets in 3 TN Girls Battalion, Tirunelveli.

 

This book highlights the following points. 

• Neither the educational background of the parents nor the family income has anything to do with the empowerment of NCC women cadets. But it is the physical and mental training given through various NCC activities and camp activities that influence the personality of the Girl cadets.

• It moulds the girl cadets and makes them responsible citizens capable of making right decisions at the right time. 

• It gives them training in the development of leadership skills and the spirit of forbearance.

• It inculcates a sense of comradeship, secular outlook and dedication to duty.

• Participation in NCC infuses in the women cadets, a spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service. 

• The NCC training inspires the girl cadets to take up a career even in the Armed Forces to serve the Nation. "The desire to win is there in most of us. The will to win is a matter of training. The manner of winning is a matter of honour. So set your goals high and don't stop until you get there."
