Credit Delivery Through Kisan Credit Card Scheme

This book focuses on agricultural credit delivery through Kisan Credit scheme in India. The efforts are made to explain origin of KCC scheme in India, its implementation and review of major features of KCC scheme launched by various banks, progress of KCC scheme in India. agriculture insurance scheme etc. Basically this book focused on the need and significance of crop loan to the farmer on one side and implementation and progress of KCC scheme in country on the other side. Researcher found social background of the KCC holder farmers with caste, religion, population, marital status and educational level and the size of landholding, various sources of irrigation, and livestock economy of Western Maharashtra. Loan pattern, interest rate structure, and repayment capacity of the KCC holders are the main issues studied in detail. The book also focused on cost of cultivation and credit delivery system through KCC in the Western Maharashtra. It also indicates input costs of major crops, it includes labour charges and irrigation cost, machinery expenditure as well as cost on fertilizer, pesticides and insecticide use. The study focused on the social conditions as well as economic status of the farmers in detail, further study also examined interest rate, limit of crop loan as well as problems related to crop insurance. This study elaborates the various problems of credit delivery system through KCC in the Western Maharashtra. Finally book highlights the major findings and suggestions for improvement in the credit delivery system in general and KCC scheme in particular in Western Maharashtra.
