Irrigation Water Pricing

The book is an outcome of the research work sponsored by the UGC under major research project. The book exhaustively reviews the theories of water pricing on economical and environmental perspectives. The book promptly attempts to assess the irrigation pricing policies of Government of Maharashtra since 1970's on the theoretical background. The book examines the cost and benefit of the Blue and Green Water Management in Maharashtra. It is a good historical collection of information related to the Irrigation Pricing in Maharashtra with huge data base. The book exhibits some of the Co-op. Lift Irrigation schemes in Kolhapur district and reviewed the pricing procedures and policies of the Water Users Association from the field work constituting interviews of more than 200 farmers, Irrigation Managers and Government Officials. A modes of the irrigation water pricing has been suggested for the states in India and abroad. The author is closely associated with equal and judicious water distribution model in Chikotra River Basin.
