This volume is an outcome of the research papers. presented at the Tenth National Conference of Indian Association for Social Sciences and Health (IASSH) on the topic "Health, Regional Disparities and Social Development" held at Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health, School of Social Sciences. Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi during November 21-23 2012.This volume consists four sections and twenty three research papers. The research papers bring out issues related to disparities by region, socio economic dimensions and other related issues. The fourth section deals with gender disparities in nutritional status, nutritional status of SCIST, child nutritional status and nutritional status of adult Muslims. The papers highlight issues pertaining to nutritional status and disparities by gender, tribe and other categories. We are sure and hope that this volume will throw light on the emerging issues with regard to disparities in utilization of health care, nutritional status and gender disparities in reproductive health and will be useful for the academicians, researchers, policy makers and program maangers.
