Modern Chittoor

The formation of the Indian National Congress in 1885 and organization of various programmes and movements, in a phased manner, under its overall direction, supervision and guidance, during 1885-1947, particularly after the entry of Mohandass Karam Chand Gandhi into India's political movement, the British found no other option except to leave India to her people on August 15, 1947, of course, after creating Pakistan for protecting British interests in the region. It is this part of the peoples movement, during 1885-1947, particularly in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh that is the main theme of the present work
