Self-Help Groups in West Bengal : Sustainable Rural Livelihood and Women Empowerment

The primary focus of the book is Self Help Group (SHG) and its implications to rural livelihood, poverty and women empowerment in Hooghly District in West Bengal. Attempt has also been made to analyse the association between socio-economic development and the role of Self -Help Groups and the issues of SHG-Bank linkage programme. The book established that systematic use of financial support from SHG programme can encourage socio economic development and alleviation of rural poverty in our surveyed district. Self Help Group also has a positive impact on the female members towards their empowerment.
