Siddhartha Gautama, known as Lord Buddha, was born in the 6th century BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal. He was the son of King Suddhodana and Queen Maya, living a life of luxury within the confines of a palace. However, his sheltered existence changed dramatically when he ventured outside and encountered the realities of human suffering, including sickness, aging, and death. These profound experiences ignited a deep yearning for understanding the nature of existence, prompting him to renounce his royal life and embark on a spiritual quest to seek enlightenment.
