Socio Economic Status of SHGs in Tamil Nadu

The book is confined to 1000 sample self help group's and an equal number of respondents of seven districts of Tamil Nadu. The book is analysis the socio-economic status of the sample groups. sample respondents and respondent's family. The book also examines organizational and financial sustainability of sample SHG's. In this books gives the details about the role of state government and the initiative taken by them for the development of the SHG's in respective state is also discussed briefly. The author took a lode of effect to collect the data's and she went and met each and every respondent in her respective place itself. The sample is a big sample; no study has been down under the 7 districts in one analysis. This study results from the support and efforts of many people. particularly Mr. Sivaraj. he is the director of Center for Community Development (CCD) in Dharmapuri. He has helped the author to collect the data from the SHG's. Finally the book clearly shows that the SHG's increased their socio-economic status of groups, respondents and their family. The SHG's in the book are taking the lead and playing an important and pivotal role in social transformation and financial health of the poor.
