The concept of entrepreneurship has been around very long time. but its resurgent popularity implies a sudden discovery. Early reference to the entrepreneurship spoke about individuals while entrepreneurship is regarded as the fourth main stream of economic factors today. Entrepreneurship has become a cornerstone of economic development and it is associated with job creation, wealth creation, innovation and its related welfare effects. More specially, entrepreneurship is needed to increase national production and productivity in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, by harnessing youth vigour and women as a special needs group. Realising the significance of entrepreneurship development in India the Govt. came out with favourable policies with programmes since 1948. Of late, Micro, Small and Medium Entreprises DevelopmentAct (MSMED), 2006 provides for sustainable entrepreneurial development in the Country.
