Empowerment of Women through Micro Credit Based Enterprises in India: An Analytical Study Based on the Performance and Prospects of Micro Credit Enterprises

Empowerment of women is considered as the best strategy for poverty reduction and rural development. SHG affiliated micro credit based enterprises have a significant role in this direction. This book makes a pioneering attempt to evaluate the performance of these enterprises and examine their problems and prospects. In this volume micro enterprises are evaluated on the basis of their promotional agencies. A theoretical frame was developed for women empowerment. It was measured at business, organizational. individual. family, social and political levels by identifying proper variables and sub variables. Women Empowerment Index, Entrepreneurship Development Index, Paired 't' test, ANOVA, 'r' test etc. were used to measure and analyse empowerment. An interstate comparison on women empowerment was also attempted in this book.
