According to Brundtland Commission Sustainable development is a process of development with sustainability that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Everyone wants a better place to live. Some people want better homes and housing, while other people want better schools, more jobs, better shops, or cleaner and safer streets. Others may want all these things. Whatever the problems in any neighbourhood, they can usually be grouped into three issues. People need a better environment that means green spaces, play areas, no litter, nice gardens, decent houses, less noise and pollution. The resources used should renew over generations, a better economy that means jobs, reasonable prices, cheaper heat and light, no loan sharks and better social conditions that means good leisure facilities, lots of community groups offering sports and arts, friendly. neighbours. The knowledge of sustainable development is very essential to understand the process of development and its impact on environment, society and livelihood of the individuals. The process of sustainable development is multidimensional in nature relating to economic dimensions, Social dimension and environmental dimension. Sustainability could be learnt from the ecological dimension, biodiversity dimension. and forest dimension. The extent of sustainability in environmental dimension is very important to protect the life support system. The protection of human health depends on sustainability of health system, health infrastructural facilities. health care services and healthy life style behaviour. These aspects could be examined under sustainable development in health system. It should receive due attention when one can examine the multidimensional process of sustainable development.
