This Book “Women’s Empowerment in India: Socio-Legal Perspectives” attempts to focus on some of the important issues of women empowerment and various aspects of the challenges in women empowerment. So many Mentors, Colleagues, Friends and Adopters over the past decades have contributed to my understanding. So my gratitude and apologies go to the many unnamed but still highly deserving persons.  Women's Empowerment has been an issue of immense discussions and contemplation over the last few decades worldwide especially in equity, sustainability and Empowerment. The Issue of women empowerment has moved to centre stage with global paradigm shift from growth oriented to human development approach.

Women are recognized as a symbol of patience, peace, politeness, progress and power. Women Empowerment is the ability for women to enjoy their right.  In the present economic scenario of globalization Women’s empowerment in terms of skills and achievements has become imperative. Women are basic ingredient of human resource capital therefore, in the development administration empowerment of women is to be ensured with the help of policy, planning, NGOs participation and other academic activities.
