Empowernment of Women : Through Micro Credit

This work consists of seven major chapters. The first chapter discusses the problems, objectives and organization of the study. In this chapter the candidate explained properly the need for the problem and also the importance of the micro credit for the self-help groups. The second chapter concentrates on the varied select review of literature related to the subject matter. The status of women n Andhra Pradesh is the subject matter for the third chapter. Various aspects concerned to the subject are explained vividly, so that one can understand the depth of the problem. The Human Development Index and also Gender related development index of various States are also furnished in this chapter. The findings of the study indicate the dominance of men continue, trying to deprive women in many walks of life. The fourth chapter analyses a brief profile of Anantapur District, Self Help Groups-concepts and characteristics on a routine manner. Further it elaborates the general features of the study area, i.e., Anantapur District. The history and development of self help groups is presented clearly with different social and economic groups of population Mandal wise.
